Hope in challenging times

The world around us seems to keep changing. Just as soon as one disaster happens, another tragedy occurs that takes away our focus, and the cycle repeats and repeats. Our peace of mind is continually being interrupted. Finding out what is true is becoming more elusive. All of this creates a taxing and challenging environment. Keeping up with the changes in the world around us in 2025 is a full-time job. The good news is there is hope. There is hope in Jesus.

The apostle Paul is someone who knew how to handle challenges and an ever-changing environment. I like how he puts it in his letter to the church in Rome when he talks about God’s everlasting love in chapter 8. He begins by asking a question. Who can separate you from the love of Jesus? Paul had been through great distress, persecution, imprisonment, and being shipwrecked. He knew firsthand about challenges and how hope could be tested. I believe he wrote these verses with the full conviction of his experiences:

“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:37-39)

Nothing can take away the hope and surety you can have in Jesus and His love for you! If you need some hope in what you are going through, you can find hope and more in a relationship with Jesus Christ. And you are always welcome at one of our services. If you are in need of prayer or spiritual support, please reach out to me.

Take care and God bless,
